Poem I wrote about Harry Potter in my life.
My life isn’t very easy.
Quite chaotic if you will.
The craziness that surrounds me
Cannot be cured with a pill.
To start I am a mother
Of two small children you see
Though I find them a blessing
They keep me quite busy.
I also happen to be a wife
To my heart he holds the key
Though I wish for no other
He suffers from PTSD
Between wife and mother
Four cats and yes a dog
A house to be kept clean
I am a constant working cog
Somedays I feel overwhelmed
Pressure builds up inside
I need to find an escape
Or perhaps someplace to hide
I can’t always leave the house
I’ve few people to help me out
Still I need to get away
For a moment so I don’t shout
One day I found my solace
In an unexpected place
In a World I found in a book
Right in front of my face
Some people may find it odd
Some people may think me lame
This book brings me peace
Harry Potter is its name
Yes, seven books, not one
Eight movies if you care
When my World is falling apart
Harry Potter is always there
It provides me with a mental break
Somewhere to go when I need it
The lessons it even teaches
Cannot be defeated
So many wonderful characters
Wrapped all up in one great tale
Have impacted so many people
It’s a fantasy without fail
Filled with many great examples
Being brave and full of love
Family and friends
Always rise above
It shows a variety of humor
And how darkness can come into play
Though if you don’t let it
The darkness won’t hold any sway
It matters not that the books are done
The movies have all been made
For Harry Potter will live on
The Wizarding World will never fade
Through fans writing fanfiction
Making videos and song
Artwork and role playing
Inspired visions that can’t go wrong
So others can go ahead and laugh
Nothing shall fill me with dread
For I love Harry Potter
Because I’m a true Potterhead!
